Lead Generation and Appointment setting

For nearly every organisation that exists there are always more customers available. The challenge is that most of them remain invisible. The ones that become visible are normally derived from your referral network.  But what about opportunities in the market that you never even knew where there?

This is where Performance Marketers can make a difference – by proactively and systematically contacting your prospects and uncovering their requirements now, and their projected future requirements.

Your network is your best source of new business. Performance Marketers can never replace or match this. However your network, as a sales tool also has some shortcomings:

  • Unpredictable - you never know when a hot prospect will call you so you cant plan your resources or time around that. This also means your income stream is likely to be sporadic and ‘feast or famine’ by nature.
  • Limited in scope - referrals are limited to the people you know and the people they know. For example if there are 1000 defined prospects for your business in Australia, and 200 of them are in your network, you are only exposed to 20% of the possible opportunities in the prospect pool.  In this example by relying on your network you are effectively shutting off 80% of available industry profits (assumes an even distribution of opportunities across the prospect pool).
  • Untargeted - referrals can come from any kind of business, including the ones you don’t want to work with – the ones that will end up actually costing you time and money. An appointment setting agreement is designed to target ‘low hanging fruit’ first – the people who are aligned to receive the maximum benefit from your value proposition. These people also tend to pay on time, and also refer you to more people.

  • A large call centre which consistently hires (and frequently turns over) students and 'back packers'. 
  • A company that outsources work to low cost international call centres such as the Philippines and India. All our work is done from Australia.
  • A company that uses VOIP technology. All our calls are made with standard Australia land lines so there is no speech delay or sound quality issues.
  • A multi focused company. We provide professional services firms with custom made sales and marketing solutions. This is evident throughout our website and our service descriptions. We may sometimes attract companies outside of the professional services arena.



Appointment setting – why outsource it.

  • You may not have an organised system of lead generation we believe necessary for consistent sales growth. Appointment setting proactively finds opportunities in specified target areas, ‘Word of Mouth’ waits for opportunities to arise from untargeted areas.
  • The cost of your time. It is presumably not cost effective for you to be engaged in lower level sales duties (pre first meeting sales activity).
  • You are likely to not have the same level of experience and skill in qualifying opportunities and negotiating meetings on the phone.
  • You are positioned more professionally when you do not set your own sales appointments.
